The Tipsy Rabbit GSP TopDog Kennel

Exceptional dogs are worth the wait—& our families know it.

Reserve Your Place in Line

At Tipsy Rabbit, we are a heritage-focused breeding program dedicated to preserving the qualities that have made the German Shorthaired Pointer one of the world's premier versatile sporting breeds. Through purposeful pairings, comprehensive health testing, intentional early development, and lifelong support for our families, we honor generations of legendary hunting bloodlines while thoughtfully preparing the next generation.

Our goal is simple: to produce German Shorthaired Pointers that are equally at home flushing pheasants across open prairies, competing in hunting and performance sports, or relaxing beside their families at the end of an adventurous day. Every breeding is purposefully planned to preserve the intelligence, natural ability, sound structure, trainability, and cooperative temperament that generations of dedicated breeders worked so diligently to establish.

Every dog in our program completes extensive health testing, with Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) results publicly available. We believe transparency builds confidence, allowing every family to understand the health, structure, and thoughtful planning behind each pairing.

At the heart of our program is the enduring legacy of our beloved heart dog, Tex—remembered for his heart, determination, and unwavering spirit. His influence continues to inspire the standards we uphold and the qualities we strive to preserve in every Tipsy Rabbit TopPup.

Because we intentionally keep our program small—typically producing just three to four purposefully planned litters each year—many of our TopPups are reserved well before they are born. Reserving your TopPup secures your place on our reservation list, allowing us to thoughtfully match each puppy with the family best suited for them.

We are currently accepting a limited number of reservations for upcoming litters. If you're considering adding a Tipsy Rabbit TopPup to your family, we encourage you to reserve your place early.

How the Reservation Waitlist Works

Securing your place on our waitlist means you're reserving a future Tipsy Rabbit TopPup—not a specific litter or exact timeline. We do our best to keep you informed and transparent about where you stand on the reservation list while helping you determine which planned pairing is the best fit for your lifestyle, goals, and preferences. If you already have your heart set on a particular pairing, you're always welcome to wait for that litter. And if timing doesn't line up quite right, your reservation can easily roll over to a future litter..

Because each breeding is thoughtfully planned and nature ultimately leads the way, timing can vary. Some families may welcome a puppy sooner than expected, while others may wait a bit longer depending on pairing availability, litter size, and individual preferences.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Reservations are accepted by gender (male or female).
  • Picks are made at 4 weeks of age in reservation order.
  • We guide each family through the selection process based on temperament, lifestyle, and overall fit.
  • Most litters average ~8-10 puppies, and we typically accept a limited number of reservations per litter.

A Note on Timing
All projected timelines are estimates and may shift based on heat cycles, successful breedings, and natural variables outside of our control.

We keep our waitlist families informed every step of the way and communicate updates as they arise.

Our focus is always quality over quantity—producing exceptional dogs, the right way.

Our Commitment to Excellence

At the Tipsy Rabbit, we are honored to be recognized by the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. program, a distinction that reflects our unwavering commitment to Health, Education, Accountability, Responsibility, and Tradition in our breeding practices.

Our program places a strong emphasis on health, temperament, and early training, ensuring that every puppy receives the best possible foundation. From the very beginning, we implement Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) to promote resilience, adaptability, and optimal development alongside Early Scent Introduction (ESI), which encourages olfactory growth, boosts confidence, and early cognitive skills. As our puppies grow, we introduce litterbox training, kennel exposure, and early obedience work to prepare them for life as confident, well-mannered companions.

Socialization is at the heart of our program. Each puppy is raised inside our home, immersed in the daily rhythm of family life—including children, adult dogs, and even cats. This environment nurtures well-adjusted pups who are ready to integrate seamlessly into a variety of homes and lifestyles.

We breed with intention, focusing on dogs that offer the ideal combination of drive and an “off switch.” Our puppies are versatile—equally at home in the field, in the water, or curled up on the couch. Whether your goals include hunting, performance sports, or companionship, we strive to produce dogs that can do it all.

Every Tipsy Rabbit TopPup receives comprehensive veterinary care, including tail docking, dewclaw removal, a full health examination, parasite screening and their first heartworm/flea preventative. Puppies go home with prepaid AKC registration, are microchipped with lifetime enrollment in AKC Reunite, and come with vet records and a thoughtfully prepared puppy starter kit to support a smooth transition into their new homes.

At the Tipsy Rabbit, our mission is to produce outstanding companions, performance partners, and working dogs that reflect the heart and heritage of the German Shorthaired Pointer. We proudly celebrate our dogs’ accomplishments beyond the whelping box by offering achievement incentives for AKC titles and NAVHDA test results. This includes recognitions such as Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Junior Hunter (JH), Dock Diving (NADD), Trick Dog, Rally, FAST CAT, and NAVHDA’s Natural Ability Test.

These achievements are a testament to the intelligence, versatility, and drive we cultivate in every TopDog we raise.
