Meet the girls of Tipsy Rabbit
The Heart Behind Every TopPup
Our girls are more than exceptional breeding females—they are the heart of our heritage-focused breeding program. Carefully selected for their health, temperament, structure, natural instincts, and proven pedigrees, each female represents generations of thoughtfully preserved German Shorthaired Pointer heritage while helping shape the future of Tipsy Rabbit. Our breeding females are first and foremost cherished family members. They spend their days exploring the outdoors, sharing adventures with their families, and curling up on the couch at day's end. Their affectionate nature, intelligence, and unwavering loyalty are just as important to us as their natural hunting ability, because we believe the very best German Shorthaired Pointers excel both in the field and in the home. Every female in our program completes comprehensive health testing, with Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) results publicly available. We believe transparency and purposeful breeding decisions are essential to preserving the health, integrity, and future of this remarkable breed. We are equally committed to the lifelong well-being of our girls. Each breeding is carefully planned, and we intentionally limit the number of litters each female produces throughout her lifetime. Our females are typically bred no more than once per year, allowing ample time for recovery, conditioning, and the active lives they love between litters. They retire while still young and thriving, where they continue doing what they've always done best—living as cherished family members and beloved companions.
Charlie – Grit, Grace & Heart
Sire: Dakota Jagr SS04671804
Dam: Honker's Miss Izzy SR84888109
Charlie's heritage traces back to the rolling prairies of the Dakotas and the central plains, where generations of dedicated breeders worked to preserve the German Shorthaired Pointer as the ultimate versatile hunting companion. Bred by Missouri River Kennels in the heart of pheasant country, her pedigree reflects decades of thoughtful selection for natural hunting ability, intelligence, cooperation, sound structure, and the temperament to thrive both in the field and at home.
Her lineage is woven together by many of the kennel programs and influential dogs that helped shape today's modern hunting GSP. Legendary names such as Hillhaven's Hustler, along with the renowned Dixieland, Rawhide, Sharp Shooters, Shooting Star, and Willow Creek breeding programs, appear throughout her pedigree. It is also exceptionally rich in Dual Champions (DC), Field Champions (FC), and Amateur Field Champions (AFC)—a reflection of generations of dogs proven in the field and preserved through purposeful breeding.
Charlie is more than the product of an impressive pedigree—she represents the continuation of a legacy built by breeders committed to producing cooperative, versatile bird dogs capable of excelling from the uplands to the family room.
In the field, Charlie is fearless and driven, with a sharp nose and the kind of bird sense you can't teach. She combines a cooperative hunting style with the grit to get the job done, naturally locating, tracking, retrieving, and flushing game while showing no hesitation when asked to push through dense cover and thick brush in pursuit of birds. Her calm confidence and methodical approach are hallmarks of generations of purpose-bred hunting dogs.
At home, she's the heart of the pack. A natural peacekeeper with remarkable maternal instincts, Charlie has an uncanny ability to read both dogs and people. She keeps everyone in line while still bringing her own big personality and competitive spark—especially when there's retrieving, swimming, or dock diving involved with Goose.
Charlie consistently passes on her biddability, intuition, cooperative nature, and balanced temperament to her puppies. Her proven hunting heritage and exceptional maternal instincts make her the perfect complement to Maverick's accomplished field trial lineage, blending two respected traditions of the German Shorthaired Pointer while preserving the versatility, soundness, and temperament that define the breed.
Charlie has successfully completed a comprehensive DNA and health evaluation, testing clear of inherited conditions including Cone Degeneration and von Willebrand's Disease. She has earned passing OFA certifications for hips and elbows, along with OFA cardiac and CAER eye clearances, reflecting the sound structure, health, and quality we prioritize in every generation.
These health evaluations play a vital role in every breeding decision we make. By carefully considering each dog's genetic profile, structural soundness, and overall health, we create intentional pairings designed to reduce the risk of inherited conditions while preserving the instinct, temperament, and versatility that generations of dedicated breeders worked so hard to establish.

At home, Remi is deeply loyal and affectionate, happiest when she's included in every family adventure. She brings a calm confidence and playful spirit to the pack, seamlessly transitioning from hardworking hunting companion to devoted house dog curled up beside her people.

We look forward to watching those qualities continue to develop in future generations.

Sire: Flipping the Bird SS24836602
Dam: Maverick's Dakota Duchess SS26834902
Nelli is a homegrown Tipsy Rabbit girl who beautifully blends the very best of both her parents. Nelli has successfully completed all OFA health screenings, earning the highest ratings for both hips and elbows. She has also been awarded a CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) number, reinforcing our commitment to producing German Shorthaired Pointers that exemplify structural soundness, genetic health, and the lasting qualities that make this breed so extraordinary.

Valentine – Poise, Power & Heart
Sire: Hero Go Again! Reloaded Heritage SS14698102
Dam: Alvarado Farm's Sarah Seeks Birds SS28120605
Meet Valentine, affectionately known as "Valley," the spirited young adult of our pack whose striking black roan coat is matched only by her athleticism, intelligence, and affectionate nature. Bred by Julie Alvarado, Valley represents generations of thoughtfully preserved German Shorthaired Pointer heritage. Her registered name pays tribute to her raven-black coloring, bird dog lineage, and the sweet, loving personality that earned her the nickname "Valley."
Valley's pedigree traces through the renowned vom Osterberg family of Germany, where Dr. Albert Lemmer dedicated his breeding program to preserving the Deutsch Kurzhaar as it was originally intended—a versatile hunting companion with exceptional trainability, sound structure, natural ability, and a calm, cooperative temperament. Those qualities have been thoughtfully preserved across generations of dedicated breeders, creating a family of dogs known for their consistency, versatility, and predictability. Valley isn't simply descended from exceptional dogs—she is the product of generations of breeders who believed consistency, versatility, and sound temperament were legacies worth preserving. We are grateful to Julie for entrusting Valley to our program and for sharing a commitment to preserving this remarkable heritage.
That relationship extends beyond Valley herself. One of Charlie and Maverick's daughters, Juno, is now a part of Julie's breeding program, where she is being thoughtfully developed in the field with hopes of earning her Field Champion title before contributing to future generations. At the same time, Valley has become an important part of the Tipsy Rabbit program. Together, these two females represent more than an exchange of dogs—they are a testament to what can be accomplished when preservation-minded breeders trust one another, invest in one another's dogs, and work together to leave the breed stronger than they found it.
In the field, Valley is everything her pedigree suggests. She moves with the effortless speed, strength, and grace of a gazelle, covering ground with fluid athleticism while remaining attentive to her handler. Her natural retrieving instincts, enthusiasm for water, sharp recall, and growing competitive drive reflect generations of selective breeding for true versatility. Whether exploring new cover or launching into the water, she approaches every challenge with confidence and enthusiasm.
At home, Valley's softer side shines just as brightly. She is convinced every lap belongs to her and happily curls beneath the covers each night with only her nose peeking out to stay cool. Her affectionate, easygoing personality perfectly balances her athletic drive, making her equally at home chasing birds in the field or relaxing with her family on the couch.
Valley has successfully completed the recommended OFA health testing for German Shorthaired Pointers and has been awarded a CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) number, reflecting our commitment to responsible breeding and breed preservation. At Tipsy Rabbit, we believe exceptional breeding begins with evaluating the whole dog. Health clearances, pedigree, temperament, structure, instinct, and real-world performance are all carefully considered when planning pairings that honor the breed's heritage while thoughtfully strengthening future generations.

Lexi – The Heart of our Pack
Lexi, an original pack member, found her way to us through rescue while we lived in Phoenix, AZ—and from day one, she made it clear she had chosen us. As an English Pointer mix (aka an honorary GSP), she may not share the same pedigree, but she absolutely shares the spirit, energy, and loyalty that define our pack.
Once timid and unsure, Lexi blossomed with time, love, and guidance from our family and packmates. Though still shy with new faces, she’s full of playful personality and keeps the younger dogs in line, especially when there’s a litter in the house. On off-leash walks, she leads by example, showing the younger dogs the way.
Lexi is also Goose's best buddy 365 days a year. Whether they're racing through the house, wrestling in the yard, or simply keeping each other company, she's always ready for the next adventure. During heat season, she takes on an especially important role—helping keep the boys entertained, active, and happily distracted while the girls are otherwise unavailable to hang out.
A loyal, steady presence, Lexi remains the heart of our pack, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
